Sue approached cornerpiece with a typical requirement for a brand new business. A full brand package was needed including logo design, business card and leaflet / flyer design and print, and of course website design.
The first stage was to agree on the general look and feel that would portray both the warm and friendly atmosphere of a Northumbrian B&B along with the clean and modern decor and furnishings within. Sue's chosen name for the bread and breakfast 'The Acorns', gave us the obvious direction to go for the graphical part of the logo design. We then selected a complimentary font that has a traditional yet modern appearance for the text mark.
The website continued with the mix of traditional and modern design with the same logo font used for titles throughout, swirl section separators, and photo album style borders around all the embedded photos. The home page includes a slideshow of photos exhibiting the high quality of the decor and furnishings and allows visitors to very quickly take a look around. All the main photos of the B&B were brought to life with pop-up lightboxes to view larger versions of the images. Several pages were created to give more detailed information and images of the rooms, facilities, rates etc with a page dedicated to Alnwick, Northumberland and the surrounding area including a top ten of places to go. The contact page includes a form for enquiries and a map to help visitor locate the B&B.
To help promote the business, Sue also required business cards to hand out to potential and existing customers, and leaflets / flyers to put into local businesses and shops to increase exposure. Cornerpiece designed both of these and arranged the printing via our print partners
I would have no hesitation in recommending Cornerpiece to a business looking for efficient and effective web-design. I was opening a new business, and needed business cards, leaflets, and to set-up a web-site. Cornerpiece quickly came up with my logo, and arranged the printing of my business cards and leaflets at a very competitive rate. It was all very seamless, and I was really pleased with the high quality results.
Although I am myself a frequent user of the web, I had no idea how to go about designing a site, or actually getting it onto the worldwide web. However, after just one face to face briefing, and a few emails and phone calls, Cornerpiece delivered a web-site that met all my requirements. I had only a very rough idea of what I wanted the site to look like, but they offered sound advice, and with their creative and technical input I got a web-site that stands out in what is a very competitive market.
For me it was a huge bonus that I was able to source such a professional and personable service so locally, and also the fees that Cornerpiece charge are very favourable.
